Do it Best celebrates two members named 2019 LBM Journal Dealers of the Year

LBM Journal, the leading magazine for the lumber and building materials industry, named Do it Best member-owners Dealers of the Year in two of its three sales categories for 2019. The publication recognized Utah-based Sunroc Building Materials as Dealer of the Year for Sales Over $50 Million and Eastpoint, FL-based Taylor’s Do it Best Building Supply as Dealer of the Year for Sales Under $10 Million.

This exclusive recognition honors Sunroc and Taylor’s as companies that epitomize the entrepreneurial spirit and excel at identifying underserved—or emerging—markets, satisfying customers, and constantly working to grow and improve their businesses.

Since 1938, Sunroc Building Materials has been providing quality building and construction supplies to contractors, builders, and homeowners throughout Utah and the Intermountain West. Today, Sunroc features 12 locations, 375-pus team members and nearly $220 million in annual revenue. The company’s clear understanding of its competitive advantages and innovative approach to customer service are both core factors in its success and key reasons for its recognition by LBM Journal. In addition, the magazine’s editors also highlighted Sunroc’s focus on building components, a dynamic pricing strategy, and an innovative rewards program.

Taylor’s Do it Best Building Supply
is now in its second generation of ownership within the Taylor family. Along with the entire Taylor’s team, owners Ken and Kim Fish earned accolades from LBM Journal for success in an especially challenging year where it helped residents rebuild after summer wildfires and a major hurricane.

In addition to outstanding customer service and a modern, comprehensive product selection, the company’s dedication to its employees is legendary: during the first three years of the Great Recession, the family took pay cuts of 33 percent for two years and then no salary in the third all to retain as much staff as they could. Since then, Taylor’s has grown 20 percent year-over-year, thanks in large part to the store’s advancement in maintaining a diverse inventory, adapting to technology, and adjusting to market trends.
